Located in the charming town of Dunmore on Harbour Island, Rock House is a boutique hotel combining colonial elegance, cutting edge design, exquisite service and island sensibilities.
A History of Rock House:
Rock House has been a vibrant and colorful feature of the Harbour Island landscape since the early 1940's. Originally built as a Bed & Breakfast, it has evolved over the years from hotel to rental property and back to hotel again.
In July of 2002 the property was offered for sale and it caught the interest of the well-known and well-established South Florida builder J. Wallace Tutt III. Builder for celebrities such as the late Gianni Versace and Cher, he had a vision of turning the property into a boutique hotel. Along with the adjoining historic Catholic School House, Tutt had the concept of making the two properties one, and create a casual yet elegant atmosphere, encompassing hotel, casual grill and elegant fine dining all in one small compound. The project began in August 2002 and Rock House grew into the gem that it is today. It offers 10 spacious king size bedded rooms, one of which is a 2-bedroom, 2-bath Suite with whirlpool tub, mini bar and a full living room.
The hotel business is not new to Tutt who in 1994 built a 17-room hotel on Collins Avenue on Miami Beach known as the Hotel Impala. It became the most successful hotel in all of Florida capturing the highest occupancy rate in all of Dade County.

Our staff has been carefully selected and professionally trained to create a comfortable atmosphere in your room and in every area of the Rock House. Getting There:
From Nassau, Bahamas: Only a 20-minute flight. Southern Air or Bahamasair propjets make daily direct scheduled flights to North Eleuthera Airport.
Getting from North Eleuthera Airport to Rock House involves taking a 2 minute taxi ride to the dock, a 5 minute water taxi across to Harbour Island and then another 2 minute taxi ride to Pink Sands. Each stage costs $4 per person. Transport is always available. Total transfer time is approximately 20 minutes. Rates subject to change.
Alternatively, a high speed Fast Ferry (approximately 2 hours) services Harbour Island daily. The fast ferry leaves Nassau daily for Harbour Island at 8:00 AM and arrives at 10:30 AM. Costs $60 pp one way. The same ferry returns from Harbour Island to Nassau leaving at 3:50 PM arriving Nassau at 6:20 PM. THIS IS THE ONLY TIME IT RUNS. THE FERRY PORT IS A 45 MINUTE TAXI FROM THE AIRPORT.
