Pink Sands is a 20-acrea haven set by the edge of the famous three-mile pink sand beach on Harbour Island.

Designed by Biba founder Barbara Hulanicki, Pink Sands comprises 25 pastel-colored cottages scattered throughout lush tropical grounds abundant with coconut palm, hibiscus, bougainvillea, jasmine, and ground orchids. The cottages are situated to ensure privacy for all guests and are the perfect choice for those desiring a sophisticated but relaxed beach holiday.

Pink Sands is a unique 20-acre property with Bermuda roofed, pastel colored cottages complete with fretwork scattered amongst lush, tropical vegetation of coconut palm, hibiscus, bougainvillea, jasmine, and ground orchids and is designated as an official bird sanctuary. Amenities such a freshwater pool, tennis courts, and Internet access, are a testament that Pink Sands has successfully wed modern amenities with traditions of the past.

Pink Sands is both understated and rather witty, with the Moroccan/Far East inspired main lobby and bar reached by stepping-stones across a small pond.

Pink Sands is now under new ownership and management and is now a sister-resort to Coral Sands Hotel located close by. Exciting upgrades are presently being completed.

Getting There:

Pink Sands is 20 minutes from the North Eleuthera international airport (ELH) by land and water taxi transportation.

Air Transportation
The nearest airport is North Eleuthera international (ELH) and is serviced from Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and Nassau. Delta Airlines also has non–stop service from Atlanta.

From USA connect via Ft. Lauderdale or Miami to North Eleuthera on Continental Airways. There are a couple of flights a day. North Eleuthera is our local airport and is 20 minutes from the hotel. Getting from North Eleuthera Airport to Pink Sands involves taking a 2 minute taxi ride to the dock, a 5 minute water taxi across to Harbour Island and then another 2 minute taxi ride to Pink Sands. Each stage costs $4 per person. Transport is always available.

From Europe...British Airways flies direct London to Nassau and then we recommend connecting on a 15 minute charter flight from Nassau to North Eleuthera. So guests do NOT need to overnight in Nassau. The charter plane costs $350 for the plane.
Guests that for some reason do fly to Nassau can connect on a charter or Bahamas Air but this usually involves a long stop over.

There is a fast Ferry that leaves Nassau daily for Harbour Island at 8:00 AM and arrives at 10:30 AM. Costs $60 pp one way. The same ferry returns from Harbour Island to Nassau leaving at 3:50 PM arriving Nassau at 6:20 PM. THIS IS THE ONLY TIME IT RUNS. THE FERRY PORT IS A 45 MINUTE TAXI FROM THE AIRPORT.

Ground Transportation
From North Eleuthera airport, there is a land taxi to the North Eleuthera dock, a water taxi to Harbour Island, followed by a land taxi to Pink Sands. Total transfer time is approximately 20 minutes. Alternatively, a high speed Fast Ferry (approximately 2 hours) services Harbour Island daily.
