Paradise Island
Paradise Island, originally called Hogg Island, is connected to the city of Nassau by two 600-foot bridges. The 685 acres of Paradise Island are developed almost exclusively to accommodate travelers, with resorts, hotels, restaurants, shops, a golf course, an aquarium, and a casino rounding out the amenities. Very few private residences exist on the island.

Bahamian cuisine is vast and versatile. It meets the requirements of every taste bud and every budget. So be prepared to enjoy the gourmet dishes of international or Bahamian origin as well as some of the dishes native only to The Islands of The Bahamas.
Seafood is the staple of the Bahamian diet. Conch (pronounced "konk") is a large type of ocean mollusk that has firm, white, peach-fringed meat. Fresh Conch any style is a Bahamian specialty. Make sure you go to the famous Fish Fry at Arawak Cay a mile west of town. Great fresh fish and lots of fun!

Ocean Club Golf course This 18-hole, par-72 championship course is designed by Tom Weiskopf and operated by Troon Golf. Weiskopf’s PGA course features meticulous seaside green and tee settings, alternating fairways and breathtaking signature holes stretched over 7,100 yards.
Getting There
All major airlines and many charter airlines fly into Nassau, as it is the hub of the Bahamas.
Getting Around
- JITNEYS/BUSES are 32-seaters run throughout the day normally from 6:30 am to 6 pm except Sundays when service is limited. The basic fare is $1 per person and $2 for areas on the outskirts of town. Exact fare is required. Buses run at half hour intervals. Buses to the Cable beach area leave from Navy Lion Road North depot. Buses to the Eastern area leave from Frederick Street North depot. Buses to the malls leave from Marlbourgh Street East.
- Car Rental - All major car rental companies have depots at the airport.
- Taxis are metered
- Scooters are available for rent from most hotels. Bicycles are not generally available for rental in Nassau/Paradise Island.

You will want to make time in your holiday for shopping….Nassau and Paradise Island are a Mecca for duty free shopping.
